Weekly roundup and everything happening in The Doge Pound world for the week ending 19th March
It’s been an exciting week at The Doge Pound, and here is another roundup full of news and updates. We are excited to be at Outer Edge (Formerly NFT LA) this week and meet some of you at the event. Our toys are getting close to being ready, and we have a special giveaway running for you in collaboration with Jarritos.
Thanks to your contributions during the holidays, we are delighted to see Maasai-style celebrations at the Doge Pound Shelter. All this and more as we round up the week. Let’s go.
Doge Pound at Outer Edge (Formerly NFT LA)
This week, we are heading to Los Angeles for Outer Edge, The largest Web3 and NFT gathering in Southern California. We will have a booth set up at the event with My Pet Hooligan, so feel free to visit us if you plan to be there.
Kyle (aka John Lemon) will be in Los Angeles from 21–23rd Mar, attending Outer Edge and several other events, so be sure to message him or DM us on Twitter if you’d like to meet up.
Meme Competition With Jarritos
We are currently running a meme competition to give away a mini fridge offered by Bones By Jarritos to one lucky winner.
Jarritos is a brand of soft drink in Mexico, founded in 1950 by Don Francisco “El Güero” Hill and now owned by Novamex, an independent bottling conglomerate based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, property of the Hill & ac. Co.
A long-standing brand that also has an NFT called Bones by Jarritos, we want to see you create your best meme by using a Doge and the Bones character in the same scene.
Entries must be submitted by Friday, March 31. The competition is only open to residents of Mexico, USA, and Canada.
The winner will get a mini fridge (as shown below) with a Jarritos logo on the door and a Doge art of your choice on the sides.

Doge Pound Toys
We’ve been working with our vendors to expand our IP in retail stores. After several iterations, resin toys are close to being finalized, and we will start a limited release soon, available to our holders on a first come basis.
We are also working on plushies, going back and forth with the vendors to finalize the design.
We are in the process of testing low-cost dog tag collectibles with NFC chips. The idea is to integrate dog tags with digital experiences.
Buy a dog tag, scan it, and mint a free version of Doge Pound NFT that allows access to experiences. It’s a fun way to instantly build a connection between your IRL dog and our digital ecosystem. It’s still in the initial stages so we will share more as we progress further.
Celebrations at Doge Pound Shelter
Beginning of the year, we ran a campaign to support our shelter employees and raised around $2000, thanks to the pumping ETH prices.
When the Maasai (an African tribe) are happy, they sing songs and chant while doing their popular jump dance. Some of the shelter employees are of the Maasai tribe, and they celebrated their bonuses by dancing and thanking everyone for their support.
We need your help to continue supporting the shelter and hopefully expand it in the future. If you wish to donate, you can do so via fiat or crypto on our donation page.

Final Thoughts
We are excited to meet you in LA this week. As we continue building our IP, we want to focus on expanding our audience to a diverse community of dog lovers. We will further innovate and create unique products as we build our brand with our partners. We also want to continue our efforts in expanding our shelter, helping as many dogs as possible.
